A community project
er·u·dite | ˈer-yə-ˌdīt | adjective — Having or showing great knowledge or learning acquired through extensive reading and study. Synonyms: learned, scholarly, well-read, knowledgeable, educated. Origin: late Middle English, from Latin eruditus, past participle of erudire to instruct, from e- (variant of ex-) + rudis untrained.
Daly City Community Library started as a simple idea: what if our community had a shared library that anyone could contribute to and borrow from? No late fees, no bureaucracy — just books, freely shared to increase literacy, and fostering the erudite in all of us.
We're a small volunteer-run project. Every book in our collection was donated by a community member, and every loan is built on trust. We believe that access to books should be simple, warm, and welcoming for everyone.
Simple, friendly, and built on community trust.
Every book in our collection is available to any community member, completely free of charge.
Our collection grows through donations. Every book you contribute helps a neighbor discover something new.
Sharing books reduces waste and keeps great stories circulating through the community.
No membership fees, no late fines, no complicated rules. Just bring the book back when you're done.
